Mempool
The queue of transactions awaiting confirmation on the Bitcoin network.
Definition
The Mempool (Memory Pool) is the set of Bitcoin transactions that have been broadcast to the network but not yet included in a block. Miners select transactions from the mempool for the next block, generally prioritizing those paying higher fees. When the network is congested, the mempool grows and fees rise. A full mempool is a sign of high network activity.
