Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 2026
This English text is a translation provided for convenience. The Spanish-language version is the legally binding one; in case of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that the browser stores when you visit a website. They let the site remember information about your visit (UI preferences, session, anonymised usage identifiers). They cannot run code, do not access personal information on the device, and can be deleted at any time from the browser.
2. Cookies used by SatsIntel
SatsIntel uses two clearly separated categories of cookies:
2.1 Technical cookies (strictly necessary)
These do not require prior consent under Article 22.2 of the Spanish LSSI-CE. They enable the basic operation of the site.
- Vercel session: session management and edge routing. Expire when the browser is closed.
- UI preferences in localStorage: store your personal portfolio at /portfolio, popup decisions (welcome, newsletter) and the cookie decision itself. They persist until you delete them manually or the configured period elapses.
2.2 Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4)
They are only activated if you explicitly accept them in the banner shown on your first visit. Until you decide, or if you reject, Google Analytics remains in Consent Default = denied mode: no cookies are persisted in your browser and no identifier is associated with your visit.
- _ga: anonymised browser identifier. Retention: 2 years.
- _ga_E5HNB4DYD4: identifier specific to the SatsIntel property in Google Analytics. Retention: 2 years.
We configure GA4 with anonymize_ip: true and strict Consent Mode v2. Data travels to Google servers under the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (international transfer pursuant to Article 46 of the GDPR).
2.3 Behavioural analytics cookies (Microsoft Clarity)
They are only activated if you explicitly accept them in the banner. Unlike Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity does not have a prior-consent mode equivalent to Consent Mode v2: that is why, until you accept, the Clarity script is not loaded at all in your browser. If you reject or do not decide, Clarity never initialises and no session recording takes place.
When you accept, Clarity records heatmaps (clicks, scroll) and anonymised session recordings to understand how the tools are used and improve site usability. The cookies it uses are:
- _clck: anonymous browser identifier for Clarity. Retention: 1 year.
- _clsk: current Clarity session identifier. Retention: 1 day.
We configure Clarity with strict masking, which means form inputs (including emails and passwords) are automatically redacted in the recordings — Clarity never sees what you type in text fields. Data travels to Microsoft servers under the Standard Contractual Clauses and Microsoft's supplementary privacy policies (international transfer pursuant to Article 46 of the GDPR).
3. Third-party cookies we do NOT use
For the record: SatsIntel does not use advertising, marketing or social-media cookies (Facebook Pixel, X Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag). Nor does it use other heatmap tools such as Hotjar, FullStory or Smartlook. The official YouTube widget present on some pages of the Show Me The Bitcoin podcast may set Google/YouTube cookies only when you interact with it (by clicking the "Subscribe" button).
4. Managing your consent
Your cookie decision is stored locally in your browser with a timestamp and a validity of 12 months. After that period, we will ask you again in line with the AEPD guidance.
You can change your decision at any time:
- By clicking the "Cookie preferences" button available in the footer of any page on the site.
- By deleting the site's cookies and data from your browser settings.
- By clicking the button below:
5. How to disable cookies in your browser
Regardless of your decision on SatsIntel, all modern browsers let you block or delete cookies. Here are the official links:

7. Legal framework
This policy is governed by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and guarantee of digital rights (LOPDGDD), Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE) and the AEPD guidance on the use of cookies (July 2023 revision). In case of any discrepancy between this English translation and the Spanish original, the Spanish version prevails.
